School Locator

SchoolWorks is excited to announce our new School Locator web service, which combines Google Maps technology with our GIS boundary software! In only a few short months we now have over 20 districts using our new service.

The School Locator allows parents, district staff and the public to easily look up any address within the district to determine the schools assigned to that specific address. The information provided not only includes the address and the phone number for the assigned school, it also includes a link to the schools website, grades served and directions to the schools. The School Locator is a huge time saver for both district staff and parents-- what could be better?

Is your district changing boundaries, opening or closing a school? The School Locator can also include proposed boundaries, giving the public the ability to view both the current boundaries and the proposed boundaries to understand the impact.

• SchoolWorks creates a personalized School Locator web page for your District which allows users to enter a specific address to determine the assigned schools for that address. An interactive, easy to read map appears where users are able to determine the assigned schools including the school address, phone number, school website, grade levels served and directions to the assigned schools

• The District is provided with a personalized School Locator web page address so it can be linked directly to the District website for easy accessibility.

• The website shall be customized to meet the District needs and to correlate with the design of the main District website.

• This School Locator is fast and easy to use and does not require any downloads to your computer.

• SchoolWorks shall promptly update the web databases with any changes made to the District boundaries. If boundary changes are approved by the District in advance of the changes actually being implemented, both the current and proposed schools assigned to the address will be identified.
